In honor of International Archaeology Day, Heritage West will host a special Saturday event at our two excavations locations: the parking lot of the Community Education Center and at two locations along Lancaster Walk on the campus of Drexel University. Join us on Saturday, October 17th from 10am-5pm to engage with an archaeological excavation right here in West Philadelphia. You can join in the excavation process, help process artifacts we’ve excavated, and speak with project members about your own memories and knowledge of the Black Bottom. We will also have kids activities available, like cookie excavations and pottery puzzles, so there will be fun for the whole family!
